Chulalongkorn University initiated the teaching of Accounting, Commerce, and Economics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences by appointing a committee on October 22, 1938, consisting of the following members

In 1939, The Department of Accountancy and Commerce was founded as an independent department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Professor Emeritus Phraya Chaiyossombat was the first department head. On February, 1943, the Department was promoted to the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, having Professor Emeritus Phraya Chaiyossombom as the dean. The Faculty had two departments: Department of Accountancy (monitoring accounting curriculum), and Department of Commerce (monitoring commerce curriculum). The following curriculum were offered:

1960 Master’s degree in Accountancy
1970 Graduate Diploma in Auditing
1988 Doctoral Program in Accounting (The first in Thailand)
1992 Joint Doctoral program in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting (in Cooperation with Thammasart University and NIDA) 2002 Bachelor of Business Administration (International Program), majoring in Accounting
